How to go about remaking the entire Nonology?
So, Star Wars. Basic plot of Good vs Evil. Fun romp through space. Iconic imagery, sound effects and score. But a worldbuilding and characterization mess. How about try to make it more coherent?
Since it's dawn as a copy of Flash Gordon, the franchise has no true pure fountain of canon. Like many great works of the past (the Bible included) it suffered a great deal of massaging and retrofitting. So I don't mind to throw my hat in the ring.
Am I a competent writer? No. Am I talented in any kind of storytelling, visual or otherwise? No. Am I even smart? HELL NO. But I feel like doing this, so why the hell not?
So, how will I go about it? Main points of interest:
In light of all of this, I see this project as two great tasks, in order to go through all those points of interest: figure out the basics of the universe and than rework the movies so they're consistent between the basics and each other. I have a bad feeling about this. But screw it.

So, how will I go about it? Main points of interest:
- The nine films are the focus, other material might be looked upon for reference only;
- The Force will be looked upon as a hard magic system as it's used by it's various praticants, but will remain mysterious regarding it's origins, or if it has a will of it's own;
- As far as genre, it will be treated as both fantasy and sci-fi. So real world logic and science will be applied when useful. Like the more technological aspects like artificial intelligence, ships and world biomes;
- Character development will be reworked to be more internally consistent than serving some sort of "star status". There will be no need to make you "love" a particular character just because it's the protagonist. And of course, real world events like car crashes won't have any sort of impact;
- The most amount of concepts presented in the movies will be worked with (yes, even midi-chlorians). To discard concepts without even trying to work with them is lazy;
- The work will be done thinking in a visual medium. Like a movie or animation, even if most of the artifacts of this work will be just words.
In light of all of this, I see this project as two great tasks, in order to go through all those points of interest: figure out the basics of the universe and than rework the movies so they're consistent between the basics and each other. I have a bad feeling about this. But screw it.
